Hollywood Comedy "Management"

Management is a forthcoming comedy film directed by Stephen Belber and starring Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Story
Management chronicles the chance meeting of Mike Cranshaw and Sue Claussen when she checks into the roadside motel owned by Mike's parents in Arizona. A bottle of wine 'compliments of management' jump starts the cross-country journey and unique courtship between two different kinds of people who are both ultimately looking for the same thing - a sense of happiness. Mike sees something special in button downed Sue that inspires him to take a chance and hit the road to go after her. But once he reaches Maryland, he finds that Sue has no place for an aimless dreamer in her carefully ordered life. Obsessed with making a difference in the world, Sue falls back in with her punk-turned-Yogurt mogul ex-boyfriend, who promises her a chance to head his charity operations. But having finally found something worth fighting for, Mike puts his hopes against her practicality and the two embark on a twisted, bumpy, ultimately freeing journey to discover that their place in the world just might be together.

Oscar winning Documentary "Man on Wire"

Man on Wire is a 2008 documentary film directed by James Marsh. The film chronicles Philippe Petit's 1974 high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center and is based on Philippe Petit's book, To Reach the Clouds, which has recently been released in paperback with the new title Man on Wire. The film is crafted like a heist film, presenting rare footage of the preparations for the event and still photographs of the walk, alongside reenactments (with Paul McGill as the young Petit) and modern-day interviews with the participants.

It competed in the World Cinema Documentary Competition at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize: World Cinema Documentary and the World Cinema Audience Award: Documentary. In February 2009, the film won the BAFTA for Outstanding British Film, the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Award for Best Documentary.

Producers Note
The film's producer, Simon Chinn, first encountered Philippe Petit in April 1995 on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs when he decided to pursue him for the film rights to his book, To Reach the Clouds. After months of discussion, Petit agreed with the conditions that he would play an active, collaborative part in the making of the film.

In an interview conducted during Man on Wire's run at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival, director James Marsh explained that he was drawn to the story in part because it immediately struck him as "a heist movie". Marsh also commented that as a New Yorker himself, he saw the film as something to give back to the city. He said he hopes to hear people say that they will now always think of Petit and his performance when recalling the World Trade Center's twin towers.

Responding to questioning as to why the towers' destruction 27 years later was not mentioned in the film, Marsh explained that Philippe Petit's act was "incredibly beautiful" and that it "would be unfair and wrong to infect his story with any mention, discussion or imagery of the Towers being destroyed."

Romantic Spanish Drama Film "Elegy"

Elegy (Working Title:Elegy: Dying Animal) is a 2008 drama directed by Spanish director Isabel Coixet and based on a Philip Roth novel, The Dying Animal. The film is set in New York City, but was filmed in Vancouver. MPAA has rated this film as “Rated R for sexuality, nudity and language”.

Story
David Kepesh is a cultural critic and professor. Previously married, he has a son who has never forgiven him for leaving his mother. His relationships with women are usually casual and brief. Believing himself to be an independent and self-actualized individual, he encounters Consuela Castillo, a beautiful and confident student who attends one of his lectures. She captures his attention like no other woman, and they begin a serious relationship. David is also in a casual 20-year relationship with Carolyn, another former student. Carolyn finds out about his interest in Consuela, and leaves him.

Over dinner, Consuela invites David to her graduation party. She waits for an answer, but David only promises, "I'll have to check my schedule." Consuela is frustrated. In the end, he agrees to attend. On the day of the event, David phones Consuela and claims he has blown a tire and it will be unavoidably delayed. In reality, he is sitting in his car. Heartbroken and annoyed, Consuela hangs up.

Two years pass before Consuela and David come in contact again. On New Year's Eve, David arrives home to find a message from Consuela. She mentions that she needs to tell him something before he finds out from someone else. At his apartment, Consuela announces has found a lump in her breast and will need surgery. Grief-stricken, David cries and asks her why she didn't tell him sooner.

In the final scene, David visits Consuela at the hospital where she is recovering from her surgery. In a fantasy scene, the film flashes back to David and Consuela on the beach where Consuela told David she loves him.

Story
Based on true events in the midst of the 2000 election, AMERICAN VIOLET tells the astonishing story of Dee Roberts (critically hailed newcomer Nicole Beharie), a 24 year-old African American single mother of four young girls living in a small Texas town who is barely making ends meet on a waitress’ salary and government subsidies.
